We are pleased to announce the return of iCreate! For the third year in a row students are participating in the iCreate poetry contest. This year’s contest will be for students in grades 3-8!
Students will be writing poetry based on themes of “perseverance,” “courage,” or “hope” in the months of January and February. The entire contest will culminate in a multimedia event at Michigan Theatre where many prizes will be given including gift certificates, art scholarships, t-shirts, etc. Many winners will have their winning poems turned into songs by local area musicians who will perform the songs the night of the event on March 6th.
Winners from each grade 3-8 will receive gift certificates from local businesses and a certificate the evening of the event.
Multiple winners from each grade (in every participating school) will have their poem turned into a song by local musicians and songwriters if picked by the iCreate team. These songs will be revealed the night of the multimedia event on March, 6th at the Michigan Theater.
Multiple Grand Prize winners will win all the above plus a scholarship to art classes at Essa Arts in the ART634 Building in Jackson.
Random drawings for prizes throughout the night of the event.
ALL participants’ poems will be displayed at the event.
