November 8 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Calling Marvin, a “root-rock” ensemble with more than 20 years under its belt, combines Zeppelin-esque/Black Crowes-sounds with a jam-band mentality. Three CDs, Eye Sore(1999), Twelve Spiders a Year (2002), and Big White Van (2006) have produced songs including “Orange Morning” and “Neapolitan” that led to radio interviews and airplay in Marquette, Petosky, Lansing, Detroit, and even Jackson. Although originally based in Milford, MI, leader Cole Garlak considers Jackson a second home; the band’s bass player since 2001, Dan Bickel, is a Jackson native. In an effort to showcase the 2-guitar onslaught of Cole Garlak and Dave Humphreys, and the thunderous drumming of Markus Ross, performance selections typically include interpretations of great rock literature and a hefty inclusion of Calling Marvin originals.
Tickets are only $9 in advance and include all processing fees. Tickets are $13 day of the show.
